The joy of Sharing!

Ho ho ho…! Here comes the Christmas month, which brings with itself the zest, zeal and gusto of love, of gratitude and the altruism reverberating peace and joy all around. What make it more interesting are the festivities and gifts, the merriment, fun and the spirit of sharing floating around.
Festivals and tradition go hand in hand. These traditions always remind us of our roots, of who we are. The thing which makes us different from other fauna is humanity. Human is human only when the spirit of love resides in oneself. Many a times, life gives us opportunities in form of blessings to do something for the fellow beings. And, this burgeoning act of sharing delivers an elysian-ic joy … more appeasing then the greatest of greatest gifts.
In all the religion sharing is considered to be the greatest form of devotion. Call it ‘Zakat’ in Islam or the holy ‘Daswant’ in Sikhism. Hindus perform the act of ‘Daan’ while the month of Christmas is devoted to sharing. All of them have their indigenous roots associated with unconditional sharing and altruism. This not only brings in the cognition of serenity but also bustles ones inside with the feeling of superlative joy … the joy of sharing.
In virtue, a core aspect of being human, sharing doesn’t bind itself to the concept of materialistic ventures, but is more prolific. It has more penchants towards any act of selflessness. Sharing is not about giving money for charity but sharing a smile while spending time in an old age home. It is not about lending a penny to the misfortunate but sharing that hidden piece of chocolate in your desk with colleagues. Share a joke over a cup of coffee…share the crying brows… share your guitar notes.  Sharing is an ideology, share your knowledge, share your stories, share your dreams. The joy of sharing is not a secret recipe, it is imbibed within you. Let that joy set free.
Sigmund Freud truly said, “When we share – that is poetry in the prose of life.”

Happy Sharing…!

The new Domain Saga

With growing internet technologies and the need to institute cyber presence has really fueled the existence of websites. If you own a website, domain name plays a vital role in marketing your strategy online. But the problem is, whenever we try to list our desired domain name… “It-is-already-TAKEN!” The alternate option is to compromise with our choice or to have all such cheesy domain names having numerals, hyphens or crazy extensions. But, the New Domain Saga has cured this predicament.
You always tickle your nerve and end up thinking about the magnanimity of internet fraternity to allow you for various domains (this also include internationalized domain names – names in different text script). So the questions are: what’s the size of this colossal list and who maintains it? When does this list will get over or exhaust?
We would like to answer the latter one first. The answer is ‘Never’! There are more than 2 Billion domain names and this list is main-tained by Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). In order to solve this problem of unavailable ‘.COM’ do-mains, ICANN structured regional, national and other domains to furbish the needs of internet users( E.g.: .ASIA, .IN, .TV, etc.) calling them Generic Top Level Domain (gLTD’s).
Unfortunately, again, these gLTD’s exhausted with the advent of social network and other new advancement in this field. As a meas-ure, ICANN commissioned internet giants to propose new domain names. In the year 2011, history was re-written, and here came the concept of ‘community based and open gLTD’s. With these new gLTD’s, we will have around 1900 new domains registered instead of having generic gLTD’s. Now, if you own a pizza center, you can have something like www.dominos.food or better ‘www.dominos.pizza’. If you host an app on any of the markets, you can host a website with domain www.angry-birds.app. Just imagine, the torrent of do-mains available and potency to which you can utilize (exploit?) it.
Considering the trend and new mechanizations, Google have ap-plied for more than 101 new domains including crazy ones like ‘.dog’ and ‘.lol’. Though, the master of domain registrations is Donuts Inc. with more than 300 register requests. Why these numbers are so hyped, is because of the reason that the cost per domain is $185,000. Another bizarre consideration is that, it is not sure that each application will be accepted. Amazon and Google both have registered for ‘.cloud’.
Advent of this new trend is like a new field of research, how the market will react and what all can be registered. Also, it brings out market opportunities for players to bid for their and other’s do-mains. The other side, with top level 22 gLTD’s, we have millions of websites but with new 1900 inclusions. It surely is a call for chaos. The new e-world will be suffering from domain phishing, domain squatting, domain crouching and all the vices. There will be more struggles and less stability. Domain fights and domain burgling will be the general seen. Amazon started the fight by bidding for Facebook’s ‘.like’. Is this the start of new tech war? Whatever it is, but surely it opened new vistas to create and publish content with one’s unique identity and will ham-per the notion ‘identity crises’.

Quick Facts Price for a new gLTD is $185,000 and to maintain it you have to pay $25,000.
 Even political parties can’t remain unaffected by technology, watch for .DEMOCRAT and .REPUBLICAN.
 Amazon applied for 76 while Google applied for 101 domains. Winner is Donuts Inc. with 307 domains. Donuts Inc. ––– A com-pany started in 2011 just after announcement of new Do-mains. Interesting!
 The most sought out registration was for ‘.APP’ ––– 13 appli-cants. Now, there will be a bidding for multiple application (here .app) which may earn a lot of profit for the NGO, ICANN.
 Hebrew, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic etc. are the other lan-guages apart from English for which registration has been filed.

Plea of an MBA aspirant!

Yes! I am an MBA aspirant, so are the other 3 lacs, competing to get into the prestigious colleges of India. But, thorns of desires bring up with them a sharp sword of hard work. The toiling part was normal and ordinary, analogous to previous year; you just need to be ‘the best’. But, this year, things are berserk. I bet, authorities have to define another superlative degree for the word ‘best’. Laudatory thanks to all such events this year which increased our burden to keep a stack of every Scam and Fasting Occasion(s). It’s like mugging facts and figures are next to impossible. I have a question for politicians, social workers, pseudo- social workers and hastily- converted sacrosanct. Why all of a sudden you all got this great idea of creating Impeccable India and writing inexorably in the history books? I mean, come-on, Akbar and Britishers were sufficient enough to occupy our three-fourths of brain. There is no need of Raja, Kalmadi and their infinite amount of scams. I would have presented the actual figures, but unfortunately I can’t remember, so many of them.

The year 2011, was CURSED. Indeed it was! Apart from scams, Indian Cricket Team won the WoldCup after 20 years, Poonam Pandey, price rise figures were dynamic enough to beat Michael Schumacher, US finally duped Osama, Government’s philosophy on Black Money in Swiss Banks, Anna Hazare and his ‘Jan’ Lokpal Bill, following the trend was Narendra Modi and surely will have many more.

I request you all on behalf of every MBA aspirant that we are fed up of mugging the general knowledge part, Mathematics and English were enough to make things next to impossible. We earnestly beseech you all to amass all your plans for the next year.

धर्मं मंदिर नहीं , ज़रूरत है कर्म मंदिरों की!!!

A ruined Jain Temple of Great Historical Importance

KEYBOARDS…Seriously!!

The most essential part of a computer system is KeyBoard(Yeah we know its CPU…but this article is about KEYBOARD...so we will give a lil exaggerated benefits to it!!!). So,  Keyboard form the basis of all the input devices..from mouse, lightpens to touch generation devices. Since the ages of Early men they were important. Keyboard can be found in prehistoric cave paintings and in recent excavation in Silicon Valley, California.
There are mainly two species of keyboards which are being used by Facebook Addicted Humans or those who use Computers:
1)      Qwerty     and     2)Dvorak
Recently, many new hybrid variants of both of ‘em , like Maltron Keyboard & Microsoft Keyboard , have been developed to prevent the much dreadful disease of software engineer community, The Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
Well, most of you know that what a QWERTY is! Still, for general dim witted humans, it’s a type of keyboard used mostly in the world or just browse your keyboard to find the letters QWERTY. Before QWERTY, there were around 51 patents for keyboard model, but our QWERTY emerged a winner and is still being used since 1873. And yeah, the creator of this marvel is, Mr. Scholes(*Should not be confused with fuball player, Paul Scholes).
So, what’s wrong with this QWERTY and what this hack Dvoark is? (Even this dvoark is bit tough to pronounce…and yeah damn uncool..!)
The reason is simple, QWERTY keyboard was designed to make typing slower! SHOCKED?!? Yeah, that’s true; actually, the patented QWERTY keyboard was actually a typewriter in 1870’s. The typewriter should be optimum in speed so the alphabet hitting rods of typewriter should not collide with each other while printing on paper. If two keys near each other were pressed quickly in succession, the bars they controlled sometimes collided or jammed. So QWERTY was deliberately made slower!
Dvorak: An alternative to Qwerty.
So August Dvorak created a keyboard in 1936 to solve the lazy problem of QWERTY. It is a keyboard layout designed to minimise movement, and make typing as easy and painless as possible. The idea behind it is to have the most commonly typed keys under the fingers, and make it as easy as possible to type common words and combinations of letters. To give an impression of just how big a difference this makes, consider that the average Dvorak typist's fingers will travel about one mile in a day of typing. A Qwerty typist's will travel anything from 16 to 20 Kilometer. Try to consider, for a moment, the effect that must have on your fingers.(We are not sure of this fact ‘coz we have plagiarized this part :P)

DVORAK KEYBOARD:
It is a fact that Dvorak keyboards are expensive as they are not produced in bulks. But still you don’t need to rush out and buy Dvorak keyboard. Today computers come with free Dvorak software installed and all you need to do is to switch in Control Panel to Dvorak keyboard. Also if you are quite adamant that you already know Qwerty - if you do not have a need to retrain that's fine, but does the new generation have to use obsolete typing method because once up on a time there was a typewriter with moving arms in it?
Choice is yours…you want to die or use DVORAK ?? ….  : |
Maltron Keyboard:
These keyboards are special type of boards with idea taken from both QWERTY and Dvoark. Here special placements of ENTER and SPACEBAR makes typing easy and comfortable plus the tilted positions of keys make further easy to type. Still they are under research and let’s see what our kids will be using ;) :P.>!

 Microsoft Keyboard ctrl+alt+dlt keyboard:
Microsoft has launched a special all purpose keyboard with consideration to keys which are being used most by the user. This streamline design thus can solve all the problem of your system. Cttrl+alt+dlt can solve all your problems....the hang, restart..counting the most. Delete button can remove all viruses and unwanted downloads. SO get this ASAP, THE only keyboard you need.

A tickle of clock and a cup of coffee!

I wrote down this thing on one of the desks of my classroom. Scribbling something is my passion and often is an ingredient of my works. I lost this poem but i tried to recollect and present this in its pristine form.
If you find such stuff written on any of your desk, please notify me. I'll really be thankful to you.

~Sanidhya Nanavati

A tickle of clock and a cup of coffee!

I sat down,
On a chair near bar
Asked for a coffee
Two cup and cakes
With some cinnamon and some flakes
It was nine, still half to go
As I watched the sun for a toast

A tickle of clock and a cup of coffee!

The porcelain glittered,
As beam smirked
I took up my coffee mug
Poured some milk and choco crumbs
With a newsletter in my hand
I savored till the last dearth
As time passed, timepiece clicked
Helio rose to its sturdy peak

A tickle of clock and a cup of coffee!

I was eying the rolling door
To watch some clink
On the keeper’s door
Clock tickled and
She entered in pink
With teashade glasses
And a glittery elegance
She brought with her
Some rustic fragrance,
An aura of glee.
I set down with my lids upright
As I watched the Venus
Drawing her steps
Headed my side
A man escorted her to my desk
With grinning husk

A tickle of clock and a cup of coffee!

This was the time I waited for
The golden chance
Created for.
The crimson princess
Approached my side,
I wished her with subtle delight
She bent her head
With a calliphony laugh
My appearance was her reflection
I brought down my ruddy visage
I ordered toast and a cream glass
Refilled my mug and cakes chart

A tickle of clock and a cup of coffee!

As moment passed
Iit was pretty long,
Loquacious bug
Sunk teeth along
We chatted
For eighteen and half songs
This Coffee tasted better
And The Clock tickled as ever

A tickle of clock and a cup of coffee!

The door bell clinked
Again
And there entered my best friend
With no arbitration,
I embraced
His thoughts puzzled
Grey cells Bamboozled
It was a satiation for my soul
A pristine happiness
Again made my drink sweeter

A tickle of clock and a cup of coffee!

With a goony smile I asked a refill,
Of cakes and coffees and creams
Ecstatic talks, Fluttered dais
It was a bright afternoon
I put myself on my toes
Slid a bit of coffee
Hot relishing cherishing
My friend rose and she rose with him
Holding my hand firm
I saw a stick skimming up
From a pouch
Clock didn’t tickled
Nor coffee engrossed
I was stuck and numb

A tickle of clock and a cup of coffee!

The stick was an unfortunate white
Which guides few and lay paths
For the ones with cursed fate
Those eyes behind the glass
Was gloomy dark
Which needs help
From a white cane.
I exchanged looks
With the humble being
My friend, you are
It’s a brave resolution
My heart slurred my soul again
As my clock tickled again
Coffee was sweet until now
I found some beans there again
The actual taste blossomed
The real essence
Rich cadence
Time and Clock And Coffee and Life
 Everything was related alike

My mind stalk a sneaky apostrophe
A tickle of clock and a cup of coffee!

KNOL: A potential substitute for WIKI..…NOT!!

~Sanidhya Nanavati
Knol is not derived from any Latin utterance meaning something weird which can further complicate this interesting discovery, it is just an abbreviation of the word “knowledge”. As Joules are units of energy, we can consider knol as a unit of knowledge. But, what the heck this Knol is? Simple, it’s a bit of some information for the people, by the people about SOMETHING written in a way so that reader can understand everything about anything. Confused? Well, the leader of this project, Udi Manber can make it clear. According to him Knol pages are "meant to be the first thing someone who searches for this topic for the first time will want to read". Knol provides you independence of language, front, style of lettering, speech and what not. But, you should have a Google account to take benefit out of this obsession. Knols can be an article written by one or more authors representing their opinions or a company describing about its product or new launches while others related to how-to-s or even a recipe to cook a particular dish. A reader can like or dislike the article and even can comment over asserts in the article. Similar to a YouTube video, it can get popularity or even banned if it contains prohibited stuff according to the codes of Knol. With Google as a backhand search engine, the greatest power on earth after ‘Rakhi Sawant’, your knol can get visibility in search results and even enough popularity to attract adverts (shh…it’s a secret).
Stupid wiki thinks that “The more good free content, the better for the world” but we are concerned how they can compete with such expansive elaborate freely structured knoll. It is assumed that Google is trying to guzzle netting bazaar from Wiki. The thing which is making a difference between typed logical searches by wikis, other ‘cyclopedias and Knol is that the articles in here are more of a perception based analysis rather than from a neutral podium, that is; the articles have authors as their ‘owners’ with rights over their literary works and belongs to their way of thinking. But we deciphered that, this can pretense few (actually many) problems of redundant articles with lots of superfluous or erroneous information which will make things easier-said-than-done for user to search. Still, knoll is in nascent stage, can’t say of what next. It’s the champion of this milieu (the WWW…oops…we meant Google) is standing against a giant of Encylopods. The fight would be out of the ordinary. May the best Man-euver win.

Excerpt from ode! Be expressive

~ S@nidhya

Words or speech are something high

They preach you or can destroy

Prudential way can lead your path

If be wrong ‘bout, then much to cry

The great to do with this eerie stuff

Is to fake-forge and sometime Bluff

Cause true you speak with less gimmick

Will leave your life anguish-y tough

Words are tough, tougher to tame

One needs grey to win this game

With no teeth, no potence to speak

I wish,wanna be a child again!

That’s a pearl of water or a saline treat

I wish someone please they retreat

Call it emotional sadistic play or

Please don’t be a scorn mistreat

Some tiny buds sleek leak from eyes,

Few flow fury with phony despise

Many don’t think that they’ll let it out,

Cause their chastised spirit often cries

Try some hard or let that be in vain

Let your’lids speak that veiled pain

With my eyes that cried for milk

I wish, wanna be a child again

Dark Net..!!

-Sanidhya Nanavati

What is the easiest way to search anything and everything on earth? GOOGLE! Think again! Shocked? We do have an answer for this though! “Google it”! Nowadays, this phrase (or two words) is often used instead of what we something call search. Google knows everything! But you really need to check your wits again because what Google answers is just a lagoon bifurcated from the deep dark ocean of Web, the WWW! Yeah, we call it ocean, cuz there are lots of information hidden there surreptitiously. Any search engine couldn’t return the result with more than 1% accuracy.

You might be thinking we are just fooling around with our nutty wacky brains! But to prove you, approximately web contained 7,500 terabytes of data and 550 billion individual documents. Ohh.!! That’s was in year 2000, Y2K! But a much concrete proof by one of the world’s best university, UC, Berkley contemplate from a study by extrapolating things and found out that the web is about 91,000 Terra Bytes and the surface web can amass just 167 TB of data! ( OMFG…a 4GB DVD can stockpile complete 1 season of FRIENDS with some space still left to store lewd wallpaper! And the eff…they are talking TBzzz!).

Talking about what is concealed in that deep dark web, with ballpark figure we can assume things like Dynamic pages, Unlink content(blacklinks), Scripted Contents, private web and many other treasures are still undiscovered . So the question come to a pass, are there no expectations to crawl this dark net? We won’t be bamboozling you but still there are many new algorithms which are being devised and are in their betas to conquer untamed net. The spaceships for exploring this obscure net are called “Crawlers” with codes searching the hyperlinks as their captains!

Great search engines like Bing and Google, having scintillating stats of increase in economy by 9000% every year, doesn’t chart things which are stored in profundity. The mania of concern is that, customary humans are not able to peek in this stunning celestial world of knowledge, facts and comprehensions. ‘Seeds’ of information are spread ubiquitously but the need is to identify them! Search engines are doing quite good trade, still fighting to conquer this colossal erudite creature, THE DEEP DARK NET!

Author’s reflection: Lagoon and Ocean comparisons are too small looking at the universe of hidden TBs. Anyone who can devise a code to crawl the dark net will surely earn greens but for the new age he would be like the first man on moon.

Optimistic Pessimism: an approach of reverse Psychology and existence of Yin and Yang!

-Sanidhya Nanavati

From the 1st grade it’s been taught to us to think in a much fantastical optimistic approach, id est (i.e.), to look at the positive scintillating side of prospects. The age old example has always been the same overused cliché of ‘Half- filled Water Glass’ which as a placebo works always in a chain reaction creating a euphonic feel good deceitfulness . But still, it is quite unfair that in view of the fact that we are just amused looking at the optimistic side of coin not being meditative on ‘the other opinion’. Let us for a while think a bit of a contradictory sphere of influence.

It is indispensable for us to ponder over few things, the equilibrium. From ancient Mythology to future expressions it is always predominant that existence of both the energies, viz positive and negative, is important for an equilibrium. The Yin-yang concept do agrees that for every bright existing thing there is a darker side. It’s a duo; you can’t separate any of them. If there is an existence of a positive philosophy then there should be a negative one too associated with that. That’s nature, and one can’t think of betraying it.

Considering the same thought, the series of optimism should have a pessimism attached to it. It’s the clandestine code which is much needed to be deciphered though. It’s not so complex but the thing is that we have not thought of it, the typical pattern. Pessimism is often treated in a disdainful approach rather than understanding the potential of immense possibilities hidden behind it, yeah that’s an optimistic approach for considering the not-so-brighter-thought. We can just call it an Optimistic pessimism approach, extracting optimism from pessimistic things. It can better be explained by the same metaphor of half filled glass water. Considering it as half empty is not a sign of pessimism but a hidden passion to challenge our limits to excel, to fill the glass of water again to its extremity.

We can also have another perception, on equilibrium, which can be found abundantly in various humdrum assumed effects but if contemplated in a more concentrated approach can yield marvel interesting facts of life. The North-South Pole of magnet, Masculinity- Femininity, water and fire; there is always a duo. Considering, gravitation force too, it involves two objects. Actually the yin and yang is periodic, and it is impossible to abide any one of them. If there is an existence of something saintly angelic then there is a demonic figure surely involved with that. There are many examples which are spread across the chronology and can suggest us that for every downbeat fixation or calamities by nature are always followed by a positive event. These are things which are left neglected. Osama Bin Laden does have a negative figure, but for some good it was answer to the world that USA is not a Big Boss! Even the aftermath can be considered as an optimistic effect of the dreadful cause. The eradication of Taliban followed by democratic integrity of Afghanistan and women empowerment was a great cause! Volcanic eruptions are not the nature’s way of destruction but a step of development of new terrains and new lives. Every negative figure may not be scornful but can be a step of next development. There is always a new beginning or underpinning after an end.

Optimism is a virtue but pessimism should not be considered as a negative epidemic. Pessimism actually something which can sometimes bring motivation. So better have a balanced diet for your life!

Vision for Empowering Rural India(seriously)

India was metaphorically called The Golden Sparrow, a prosperous developed nation of new opportunities, aspiration and an egalitarian society with abundant possibilities of finding the ideal realm. That was just ‘PAST’ and it’s always euphonic to talk about the great scintillating chronology. But, on finding the true scenario of present India, we are just living in a world of hallucination which is fallaciously erected upon endeavors of sham-shoddy philosophies based on ‘education-and-employment-for-all’ dogma. Even many of us are (day)-dreaming of competing with the decidedly potent USA with what we call a developmental growth till 2020.

Trying not to ride a pessimistic-cynical ship, still we, the today’s youth can certainly accumulate to create a better India. Recently there was a thought from our most bellowed Ex-president Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam that developing India can only be possible by strengthening our pastoral Bharat Varsha. Pondering on this thought, it’s quite promising that we can unquestionably take this herculean task of empowering out ‘roots’, though a simple concept but mightily a much leviathan task. But Saturn cries, what should be the perfect-arrangement-like-fixation that can be implemented to serve the Indian society of more than 100 crore population with 60% living in precincts lacking basic amenities of life?

A solution to this complex problem can be “Employment for Self Development” (call it EFSD). This EFSD can include development of rural India by providing basic services with much needed men power from the scantily employed rural region. It’s like generating self employment by developing own territory. It can be started by building canals, better roads, lavatories, residential facilities, etc in bucolic greens generating tremendous opportunity for rural employment and development in unison. There are mainly two advantages of EFSD:

Firstly, the development of parish communities will establish a society of sustainable and self-dependent humanity which is capable of independent development irrespective of varied denial contradictions of overall collapse. People themselves are liable for development of their own subject. The positive upshot is that people of particular region have a better idea of what they actually want, id est, fulfilling their own needs rather than adding superfluous aspects.

Secondly, providing ample opportunities of employment and skilled labor:

This can deal with the term of training not so skilled Indian manual labor for these colossal tasks which can ornament and sharpen our immense potential of man power. In turn, we will get a better development scale plus employment thwarting all the unnecessary ailing economy.

Employment for Self Development (EFD) will require a backhand administration from national government based management which provide firm platform for this arrangement. Another aspect which can be added by involving private players will again give this idea another dimension for sustainable development. Privatization though need some surveillance by government agencies but if introduced effectively, can append a batch to this foundation.

Another segment which needs adhered attentiveness is quality education for all. It’s quite comprehensible that today’s education system is not so tangible in achieving its goal of absolute enlightenment. Still, many children are devoid of their right for elementary education. The definition of structurally sound and equipped nation can’t be complete without apposite edification conveniences. Concentrating on education is quite productive whilst and beneficial as technology when meets with traditional skills surely create a brilliance which is surely not a meteoric marvel but a phenomena which can turn things upright. Educated farmers using new technologies and hybrid seeds will provide better gross production on the other hand conversant techno house-wives can reduce the infant mortality rate and better preferences over superstitious gimmicks. This can be achieved by increasing educational facilities amidst India by making it compulsory and free.

There can be numerous ways in which we achieve development rate but the solitary intend in the wake of this idea is to unite ‘Rural Bharat’ with ‘Urban India’. There are numerous visionaries of modern India dreaming about dynamic future, nick of the time solicits for a dynamic thinker with static aim of empowering India. We need an idealist not a fantasist!

Ideas for college and school pranks to play:

1)Big words

Whenever a teacher says a big word, ALWAYS ask what it means. Go further and ask where the word originated from, stray off the topic, etc.

2)Fake love letters

Pick two teachers that you think would be most suitable for this prank, say, teacher 1 and teacher 2. Pick one teacher that you'd like to prank, say t1, and try to learn the handwriting style of t2. Write a love letter from t2 and put it in an envelope saying 'to t1' and put it somewhere where t1 will find it without knowing where it came from.

3)What's the point?

If you hate a subject, moan a lot and ask questions like "what is the point to this?" or "I'm never gonna use this in life". Depending on the teacher, you could start a long discussion from that, and let the others do the talking while you can peacefully daydream...

4)Phone the teacher

If you can get access to a phone at school (or nearby), before class, phone school and ask to speak to the teacher you have next. Say it's urgent. If you're a good talker you can keep him/her busy for a long time.

5)Teacher evaluation

If your school won't have a teacher evaluation make up some forms and do it yourself. Compile the result and publicize them to students, faculty, school board, and community.

6)The mystery

Leave notes and hints that 'Tuesday's the day'. (Or anything else that sounds mysterious enough)

7)Notices

Collect college notices (stuff that gets sent to teachers with info on meetings, etc). Make your own ones that look similar, and distribute it to teachers. Like tell certain teachers you hate that times have changed and that they don't have a class (when they do). They either won't show up, or will get confused and go ask, which will make the principal confused, which will make everyone confused.... There, you've successfully confused everyone. Feel proud :) You can take this further and make notices saying there's no college on a specific day for whatever reason.

8)Recycled essays

Save your book reports and essays. Give them to other students to use next year or re-use them yourself with different teachers.

9)Dress code protest

If your school still has a dress code protest it having everyone do something disruptive that does not violate the code. For example, dye your hair green with food coloring.

10)Newspaper stands

If you have a newspaper stand in your school: When nobody's looking, insert lots of underground papers or stuff printed from this article.

11)Free choice reports

Use your 'free choice' book reports, term papers, etc. to read revolutionary literature and further the political education of you and your class.

12)Information service

Start an information service to get new students opinions and warnings about the teachers and administrators before enrollment day.

13)Consumer report

Write a 'consumer report' on the 'education' you've been consuming. Distribute it to parents at school functions.

14)Computer problems II

In computer class, unplug your mouse and keyboard from the computer and say the computer froze. It'll baffle your teacher.

15)Questions, questions...

While the teacher's talking, ask a question on something he/she was talking about 5 minutes ago. He can't get angry, because you're participating in class, except you will set him back. The rest of the class will be free while he re-explains the stuff.... If you work together, you could have people take turns doing this sort of thing, eventually the whole period will be gone. This works best with teachers that have a habit of straying off the point ;-)

16)Epidemics

Have giant coughing or sneezing epidemics in class or study hall.

17)Lost contact lens

When there is a sub and as usual dont want to do jacksquat, have someone raise your (or a friend's) hand and say you or your friend lost a contact lens. The sub SHOULD agree and have the class help you find it. All you got to do is pretend to look. Before you know it class is over.

18)Lost bag

Pretend you lost your school bag/backpack or say someone stole it. Say you can't do anything without it, get the teacher to let you look for it. Then stay away as long as you like.

19)Crying in class

Completely skip a project then get hysterical and cry about it. The teacher will have to deal with your emotional problems before they can do anything else. Or you could say you just broke up with a girl/boyfriend and cry about that.
(thats idiotic...uhh...yeah...i m proud of myself..[:D])

20)The rumour mill

Periodically have students go to the office to have some rumor confirmed or denied.

21)Copying notes(My personal best...hi hi hi)

If you have to copy notes from the overhead or the board, pretend it is taking you a long time. when the teacher asks if everyones finished copying them, say no. then, if they erase the notes or take the notes off the overhead, complain that you didn't finish copying them. usually the teacher will let you borrow their personal copy of the notes. if you 'forget to return them' it will mess up their classes for the rest of the day, which is nice if you have a friend in the same class before or after you.

22)Forward in time

If you can get to class before the teacher, grab the clock in the room and set the hand forward 10 minutes. You should have someone stand outside the door and make a lot of noise if they see the teacher coming.

23)Subject canceled

Write on the board something like "[subject] canceled", replacing [subject] with a subject that you have later on. If the kids think the teacher wrote it they won't show up for class and you might get the period off. Its best to do it with a class at the end of the day.

24)Computer problems

If you're working on a computer, make it crash or reset it and complain there's something wrong with it. Then the teacher could take a while to fix it, maybe they call a technician.

25)Look stuff up

Ask a question that the teacher won't know the answer to, then when they don't answer, insist that you want to know, and maybe they'll look it up or something.

26)Gay marriage

If you have a teacher whom you know to have a problem with gay people, raise your hand and ask 'what is wrong with gay marriages', causing a class discussion.

There used to be other pranks like glueing the teacher's coffee cup to the desk, or putting slimy stuff on doorknobs on this page as well, but I removed those. Things like that may waste a bit of time (like, 5 seconds), but are likely to piss the teacher off, who will then be less likely to tolerate less irritating things afterward, like the stuff on this page. Don't bother to try and reply pranks like that, because I won't add them... seriously, 99% of the pranks that get submitted are something like "glue this shut" or "put poop on the doorknob", or even potentially lethal things.
